The Artwork

Paint My Paws artwork has a "painterly quality" that varies in style depending on the medium that is used.

For examples of each medium see the Portrait Gallery and the Pricing page.

While based on the photograph of your animal, the artwork will not look like a photocopy of the photograph.  Your one of a kind painting or drawing will capture the personality and characteristics that makes your animal special.

The Process

1. Meet an awesome animal you absolutely need a painting of.
2. Contact me, Paint My Paws artist Stephanie Pollock at:  paintmypaws@hotmail.com
3.  We'll discuss the vision you have for the painting and all the other details like size, medium, photographs, price,     turn-around time etc.
4.  You send the photos and a 50% deposit.
5.  I create your hand painted artwork.
6.  I send you a "finished photo" of the portrait to make sure you love it.
7.  You send me the final payment check.
8.  I send you the finished, original, hand painted pet portrait.
9.  You (or the recipient) hang the portrait up and enjoy it for years to come!

The Photographs

Sometimes people think the best photographs make the best paintings.  I believe if you have a beautiful photo of your animal, frame the photo!  Photographs that work best for a painted pet portrait are crisp, clear, quality photo's that highlight your pet's favorite physical qualities.  Maybe it's a particular look your pet gives, or his/her favorite pose.  The better quality the photo, the better I can capture the animals characteristics.
Multiple photo's can also be helpful.  If you have a photo of the pose and angle you'd like your animal to be painted in, but his eyes have a glare, find a second photo where the eyes can be seen clearly.  The photo with the "good eyes" can be painted in to your painting to make sure it looks like your animal.
Photograph's can be emailed in electronic format or mailed postal format, whatever is easier for you.

Turn- Around Time

Quality artwork takes time, so plan ahead!  As full-time art teacher I will be busier in the September through early June months.  Summer months are a great time to start your holiday gift planning, and a great time for me to paint for you!  If there is a specific upcoming date you need a painting completed by, I will let you know if it's a realistic possibility.  For each commissioned artwork, I will give you an estimated date as to when your piece will be completed.

Check status below to see how busy I am with current projects.
